So I was saying to my friend earlier..."It's as much fun as a barrel of monkeys."
Then I got to thinking:
- What does this mean?
- How many monkeys fit in an average barrel?
- Who was the first person to look at a barrel and say, "Gee, I bet this barrel would be a lot more fun if I filled it with monkeys." ???

So, this topic brings up so many questions...and possible answers...
I would have to say that the amount of furry mammals depends on the circumference of the housing unit, Aurora.
Now, what about familial relationships beyond the barrel. Do they exist? How do these said "monkeys" provide nourishment to themselves? Can they open the barrel with their tiny arms? How do you think these monkeys feel about personal space? Is there a bubble that is being crossed with the closeness of these monkeys in the barrel?
I could go on and on...
Never gave it a second thought--maybe that's why I struggle with "pondering"?!? (I was hoping you'd post the answer--hence, my other problem with pondering --I want someone else to GIVE me the answer ; )

There are about 3 dozen monkeys in a barrel...the size of the barrel is in direct relation to the size of the monkeys.
Or maybe not.

i'm pretty sure the barrel would be filled with, well, poo, not fun.
