Masterpiece Classics

I guess I am a Masterpiece Theater junkie--though I prefer 'enthusiast'. I remember when I was a little girl in Canada watching television, and then Alistair Cooke would come on in his wonderful voice and introduce the movie that would send my friends out of the room and I would want to stay to get completely engulfed. I wish they had DVRs back then. Peer pressure usually sent me off to play Barbies, but oh how I loved those quiet nights at home when there was 'nothing on'. Nothing except Masterpiece Theater.

My children often ask me why my movies don't have color. I usually say, and firmly believe, that the best ones never do. They never believed me. To this day Stephie usually specifies, 'nothing black and white' during the process of movie selection. Well the black-and-white-being-the-best theory is true... except for Masterpiece Classics.

Happiness Through April!

I know that everyone knows about Masterpiece Theatre's Jane Austen spring lineup, but here is the schedule in case you want to know when your favorites are coming up. (as if we won't watch them all--no DVR them all, watch them all, and watch them over and over, and subject our darling hubbies and all of our girlfriends to indulge with us!)

Persuasion was a delight. I haven't ever read the book, it is on my list, but I remember greatly the mid 90's version of the movie. Yummy! I may still like that one better, but this was a very lovely way to kick off our Delectable Spring.
