What's My Job?

In an interview with Diane Sawyer, President Obama stated that his job is to,
"solve problems and help people..."
Really?  I kind of thought that he had a nobler obligation.
When a president takes the oath of office, he/she swears,
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Maybe he should have read the WHOLE job description before applying for the position of
Commander-in-Chief.

Tonight is the State of the Union Address.  Good thing I have lots of great stuff recorded on my DVR!!

Now Departing at Gate 88: Porky Pig

This time last year it was said that Obama would be president 'when pigs fly.'

Thank You, Mr. President

My first attempt at a post for today was a rather funny poke our newly-elected president. While I still feel that today is a sad day for our country, I hope that it will not be as bad as I am thinking. I mean, I was devastated when Clinton was in and I survived, right?

I have always loved George W. Bush. I think that he made some mistakes, for sure, but I still am glad that he was our president through the September 11th attacks and beyond. I am glad that he brought dignity back to our White House {and the Oval Office, ahem}. I am thankful for Laura Bush. She always showed great poise and her love was always evident; love of her husband, love of her family, love of her country.

So from my humble little blog: Thank You, Mr. President.

Pathetic

"I've got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."
