Pioneer Bread

This is a great recipe! It is dense and yeasty. Mmmm....

In our ward, the Young Women have made this recipe twice. Then the leaders baked it and it was the Sacrament bread for the coming Sunday. It is a really fun activity and it is meaningful for the girls to help by providing the bread for this special ordinance.

The greatest thing about this recipe?? You dump it all in; let is rise; knead and bake! No 3 - 4 hour bread-baking here. :)

My family adores it, so I have made it many times. Give it a try!

This recipe was found on Cooks.com

Girls' Camp

Girls' Camp was AMAZING! I had a blast with all of those crazy girls, and though I only got 14 hours of sleep in 3 nights, it was great fun.

All of the devotionals, talks and presentations were so spiritually uplifting. The girls really went away from it with a good boost. So did I.

My report is that I got a few mosquito bites. That's it. That's all. Yes, you read that correctly! I really can't believe it. I didn't see anything disgusting... well except for maybe the shower curtain- icky! I did hear about a scorpion crawling down a girl's arm in another cabin! And some people got nibbled by fish in the lake. On the creepy-crawly scale, it was a nice low 1 or 2. ☺

The last night was a total party. I was tricked into a game of 'Houdini.'
Yes, I knew that I had to escape and that rope was involved, but I didn't realize that I would be tied to a chair with a blindfold on and get a really rad makeover, kitty cat-style. Thanks, Chelsea. ☺ Stephie whispered in my ear to see if I was okay, and to offer her assistance in my escape, and Maddy just walked by and giggled, "Looking good, Mom."

Fun was had by all. ♥

Sunday Quotables

"If young women know of God's love for them, it will influence and shape all of their thoughts, feelings, and actions. They will understand they have a mission to perform in this life. They will have confidence in their ability to make responsible, righteous decisions. They will be able to resist temptation, to flee from worldly things, to dress modestly as is becoming of a divine daughter of God."
—Susan W. Tanner, Young Women general president
