China Syndrome

Hubby's off to China again.

I guess he missed going to restaurants to eat things like:

this-

Goose Tongues

I Don't Know...

You Couldn't Pay Me Enough...

Or the adventure of 'Let's-Pick-Our-Dinner' ! (from the aquarium... no this is not a zoo, it is a restaurant...)

Plenty of delights to choose from:

Eel

Turtle

Or These Little Nifties...

Now, I Could Do This -

This, Not So Much...

I am thinking that a PBJ and some milk sounds mighty fine right about now.

Mr.Monk Goes to China

So my sweet hubby is off to China on business for two weeks. BooHoo!

Our Anniversary is tomorrow. Sniff, sniff.

Comic Relief Moment--

Items found in his car:
2 boxes of wipes
Pre-packaged food bars

So, we love watching Monk, and we have all noticed Monk-isms around our house. This totally cracked me up when I needed a chuckle.
I guess he won't be picking up any funky bugs while he is over there. :)

Happy Birthday, John

Lilly and Nick help with our family tradition of breakfast in bed.  On the menu: pancakes with strawberries and bananas, bacon and extra-floaties (okay, country-style pulp) orange juice.  [there is an on-going battle in our house whether orange juice is more righteous without the pulp a.k.a. 'pure' or with icky floaty things in it... John likes floaties, hence the choice of the day]

Mmm....

The best birthday gift-- all these sweet sugars!

Gift from Maddy and Stephie: A Night at the Movies.
They gave us $20 [weird to get cash from your kids], and they provided free baby sitting so that we could go to see Vantage Point-- which, by the way, was very good.

I surprised John with tickets to go to the The Police!  This is the tail end of their reunion tour.  He was really excited and I am thrilled to go.  Yeah for presents that we can both enjoy!

John's favorite: Carrot Cake

Happy Birthday, Johnny!

A Little Salsa, please

Our Anniversary was amazingly great. We had a FANTASTIC time at Gloria's on friday night.
Okay, you just HAVE to go! (and if you want company, we would love to come!!!)
Here's the deal. Restaurant with outrageously delicioso food! At 10pm the live band arrives, followed by a quickie lesson on basic salsa steps/rhythm (yeah, it's not so easy... but very fun) And then they let you loose on the dance floor! It was fun, fun, fun. There are a lot of beginners--AT FIRST-- all of a sudden I noticed that it looked very much like we actually were in Central America and our little left-right-together steps stood out! Wow, can those people dance! We watched a lot at the end, but it was so totally fun.
We met in Miami and the food reminded me of cuban food and the music brought that whole feel to us, so it was definitely a great fit for our celebration.
FABULOSO!

Sweet Sixteen

John and I are celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary today. Wow-- that's a long time hanging out and buttoning eachother's hard-to-reach places!

We met at a Young Single Adult dance in Miami. Our courtship was a whopping 24 days before our engagment! We were engaged for about 5 months and married in the Atlanta Georgia Temple.

Our life together has been great. We have four beautful children and we laugh a lot in our home.

Tonight we are going Salsa Dancing!

First Annual Father-Son Campout

John and Nicky enjoyed their very first Father-Son Campout this past May. I wish that I could have seen it. They had a great time! Nicky helped Daddy pound in the tent stakes and I understand that he was a very helpful and happy little camper.
